Sea Glass

In the last few months I've picked up the habit of collecting Sea Glass. My friend and house-mate, Jackie, showed me where to look and how to find it. It's quite exciting to find these little treasures. Here is my collection...

This is one of the most unusually shaped pieces I've found

This is one of the newest pieces, the edges are still sharp and the piece i large for how thin the glass is, I pretty sure it's from a Jones bottle.

These next two pieces are older, the edges are worn and the sides are soft from the waves wearing the shine away

Heart shaped. White is uncommon, I only have threes white pieces

I like the edge on this one, it reminds me of a fingerprint. It is one of my largest pieces

Most uncommon color: light blue, this was the first light blue piece I found

And this is the second, amazingly it is also the largest piece in my collection. I spotted it from about four feet away.

This piece is the only one I've found in this shade of green, it is quite different. I really wonder what it came from.

Romania

I have sent in an application for a short term mission experience in Romania. The ministry I have applied to is ROCK and I would love for you all to visit their website (http://www.rockministries.org/ ).

The Adventure I call THAI PEANUT "STIR FRY"

I found and adapted a lovely recipe from epicurious called Thai Peanut Salad, just made mine a warm stir fry. I first had it with my friend Jane and decided to try it again. So one Saturday Rachel (my room mate) and I cleaned the house thoroughly and decided to eat supper together. I set the table... 

And started to prepare the food. We put a pan on the stove to get warm, and chopped some veggies. About 5 minutes later I put the chicken in the pan and heard no sizzle... not a good sign. I took the pan off and turned the heat up to see if the element would get hot... Nothing.

You see, neither Rachel or I realized that if you put the oven on to self-clean you can't use the oven (obviously) OR the stove (not-so-obviously). so we were stuck with an stove that didn't work and a prepped stir fry to make...

After much thought and scheming we decided to use the grill and wrap the veggies in tin foil. Eureka! But, no tin foil to be found in our house... Neighbors? Charlie and Marlene: In Puerto Rico... Andy and Amie... Dinner at the school... Kevin and April: Not Home (forget where) Anne and Doug: vacation... Juanita: Too far. Main Hall: I went to the school's kitchen and stole (no - I got permission) some tin foil. we wrapped the veggies and grilled it all...

Luckily I had bought Vermicelli noodles to accompany the stir fry and not Rice.

We boiled water in out electric kettle and voila! Cooked Vermicelli.

The veggies turned out wonderfully...

And we sat down to a DELICIOUS meal:

Dancing Shadows

Just sitting at home one Saturday and turned from the windows to see this. the sunlight reflecting of the water made this lovely video (I wish I had music that went with it). I love discovering things like this about where I live. Small charms like this make life sweet.
