Welcome!
You may wonder at the title of my blog. And originally it was a title that was very insignificant (see first post). I have often had the desire to change my blog's name or even to start a new one as the address is also soo do or pseudo. But this last year at bible school I had an assignment on generosity based on two chapters from the Bible (Leviticus 25 and Deuteronomy 15) that changed my perspective a bit. In Deuteronomy God tells the Israelites "...you shall not harden your hearts, nor close your hand from your brother, but you shall freely open your hand to him and generously lend him sufficient for his need, whatever he lacks." (Deut. 15:7-8).
Soo do means open hand in Korean, or at least that is what I have been told in my karate classes, and after remembering this and working through my generosity assignment, I wondered to myself: Am I a soo do (open hand) christian or a psuedo christian? This question continues to challenge me. I often keep my time, money, and encouragements to myself and don't give generously. But God calls us to give all we have, for our security lies not in our weatlh, or health, or time, or place, but ultimately in Him.
This blog is for me to share my thoughts and my days, things I love and places I go, my struggles and His victories, and ultimately His work in and through me will hopefully make me a soo do christian.

War
I think war is one of the hardest subjects for me to take a side on. I believe killing another human being is wrong because we are all made in the image of God and no one has the right to take a life, only God should. But how can I say that killing someone who is trying to kill you or who is tormenting hundreds of others is wrong? If someone doesn't stop them they could destroy so much.
Sadly, it is still wrong because that same person that hurts our world is also made in the image of God? What is the answer then? That some things in this world are neccesary evils? No, I don't believe that. The answer then, I guess, is that this world is imperfect and none of this is the way God intended it to be.

School

I'm Back! sorry about the absence. I'm getting ready to leave for Canada in about one month. and my sister is sharing some interesting stories with me about living up there.
There are a few things i still need to decide though. one of them is which "venture" do i want to go on. Each student has the chance to go on a weekend trip (venture) and i don't know which one to choose. There's surfing, backpacking, hiking, caving, sailing, or bungee jumping. luckily i still have a month to decide.
Other than that my family and I will be leaving the 12th of September and going to Seattle, then on to Victoria, where we are planning on having High Tea at the Buschart Gardens, then to Chemainus, which is where i catch the ferry to Thetis Island where the school is located.
