Welcome!

You may wonder at the title of my blog. And originally it was a title that was very insignificant (see first post). I have often had the desire to change my blog's name or even to start a new one as the address is also soo do or pseudo. But this last year at bible school I had an assignment on generosity based on two chapters from the Bible (Leviticus 25 and Deuteronomy 15) that changed my perspective a bit. In Deuteronomy God tells the Israelites "...you shall not harden your hearts, nor close your hand from your brother, but you shall freely open your hand to him and generously lend him sufficient for his need, whatever he lacks." (Deut. 15:7-8).
Soo do means open hand in Korean, or at least that is what I have been told in my karate classes, and after remembering this and working through my generosity assignment, I wondered to myself: Am I a soo do (open hand) christian or a psuedo christian? This question continues to challenge me. I often keep my time, money, and encouragements to myself and don't give generously. But God calls us to give all we have, for our security lies not in our weatlh, or health, or time, or place, but ultimately in Him.
This blog is for me to share my thoughts and my days, things I love and places I go, my struggles and His victories, and ultimately His work in and through me will hopefully make me a soo do christian.

English... oh the horror

So, my english teacher has officially taken my life away. we have this wonderful little thing called a chapbook. And in addition to what we already use it for he wants us to write 2 IFW's (Ideas for writing) , 4 entries on passages from resources we've read outside of class and style analysis on each, (this goes for things we've read in class as well), words we don't know with a definition(duh!), and phrases we find interesting or amusing (the one fun part) per week. Not to mention the same day he gave us the book 1984 to read and have the first six chapters read by next class.
Sooooo, If there are no new posts for awhile after this fret not I am merely trying to suceed in english lest Mr. Stout fire me.

Wedding, car, school, and ice cream

Wow! I haven't written for a while. CC (My sis) is getting married in 1...2...3...4 days and school starts in two days and i get a car in 5 days this is a very busy week. Still like my job, but there's always that one coworker that drives you up the wall.. on to better things. Like my family is coming up this week and we going to have a blast! And now it is my intention to go into the kitchen and make myself a big, beautiful ice cream cone

JOB!

So, I got a job. It's lots of fun and I love my coworkers, but my feet are killing me! Still haven't gotten around to starting crime and punishment. No, God! Don't make me do it. My dad said it was really interesting and I bet it is, but I still don't want to read it when I could be watching movies or playing my Super Nintendo

summer

So, school is out. I really ought to get a job, but I don't really want to. There is only one thing I have to do this summer. I get to read Crime and Punishment for my AP lit. class next year. YAY! I am so excited... Oh, well. I guess there are worse things. Like getting my intestines pulled out or have a beast eat me alive.
